Transforming communities begins with transforming seemingly ordinary individuals to go beyond. In Rotaract, members go out of their familiarity and comfort zone to discover what they can do more. This has been one of the approaches of the Rotaract Club of Carmen Valley in growing the heart for service of their members. The mangrove plating activity in Barangay Taytay, El Salvador, Misamis Oriental is an example.
The Rotaract Club is based in Cagayan de Oro but they still went beyond to plant 1,000 mangrove propagules regardless of the heat, stress and effort in traveling. All of these exerted to advance a cause they feel passionate with which is to protect the sea, the creatures that live in the waters and the people that lives by it.
