The COVID-19 pandemic has spread all throughout the world and has become a complicated health crisis to handle. Still, we want to contribute in the fight in order to save lives. It is in this belief that the Rotaract Club of Carmen Valley conducted its Shield-A-Rela Project which involved the donation and installation of 48 plastic barriers to 24 public Motorelas or Relas, Cagayan De Oro City’s version of the Philippine tricycle.
It is said that there is higher risk of virus transmission in public transportation but we cannot also discount that public transportation is still essential in the daily lives of Filipinos. Through the plastic barriers, we ensure physical distancing while protecting the lives of both the passenger and the driver who still rely on public transportation for their livelihood. COVID-19 cases are still rising. But if all of us will do our share in strengthening the fight against this virus, we might see a better tomorrow. Together, We Save Lives. #PeopleOfAction
