Although violence is a threat to everyone, women and children are particularly susceptible to victimization because they often have fewer rights or lack appropriate means of protection. The issue is also compounded by the fact that most perpetrators of violence are often people that women and children know.

In order to strengthen awareness of this concern and inform women and children of their protective measures, the Rotaract Club of Carmen Valley and their sponsor Rotary Club connected with Modern Nanays of Mindanao and the Philippine National Police-Lumbia to bring education of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act to the grassroots.
